Although it's been less than two weeks since the 2025 Bowman Chrome Baseball release hit shelves, I figured now would be a good time to analyze how markets have been set. The hobby has operated on a belief that the closer to release date a card is sold, the better. Well this might not be an all-encompassing belief, it certainly reigns true with the large majority of prospects with 1st Bowman Chrome autos in this most recent release. Only 5 prospects (4.9%) saw an increase in price from the earliest date in which they had 3 or more sales, 96 prospects (93.2%) experienced a decrease in price, and two prospects (1.9%) saw no change. The purpose for tracking price changes from the earliest date in which the prospect had 3 or more sales is to build a strong foundation; a base that efficiently accounts for initial market volatility.

I started tracking sales from this release on September 24, 2025 - the first day after this product was released. At this point in time, only 43 prospects had any sale(s) that met the criteria. As time his passed, this number had progressively increased, until October 1st, when we found sales data for 103 prospects. Since then, this number has remained consistent, returning 103 prospects with sale(s) and two without - Elian De La Cruz and Yu-Min Lin. As I was typing this article, I realized that I was using an outdated and incorrect checklist. Yu-Min Lin was initially reported to be included in this checklist, but was replaced by Anderson Brito. I had also missed Jakob Wright who was not initially reported to be included in this release. Factoring in my mistakes, we have 105 (out of 106) prospects who have had sale(s) that meet our criteria. Unfortunately, Anderson Brito and Jakob Brito will not be included in our trends analysis, as today was the first day they were included in our data. We will revisit this analysis sometime mid-October and will look to include both then.

Of note, Elian De La Cruz is the only prospect in this checklist without a 1st Bowman Chrome Base Auto sale. Ching-Hsien Ko is the only prospect in this checklist with a 1st Bowman Chrome Base Auto redemption.

The criteria for our data is quite simple, Base "1st" Bowman Chrome Autographs. We look to exclude any parallels and non-autos using a rather comprehensive exclusion algorithm. From there, we aim to find the 10 most recent sales prices. This differs from our typical price tracking in the Hobby+ App Suite where we track the five most recent sales. The reason for this difference is simple; the market is much more volatile in such close proximity to release date. As such, 10 sales provides a comprehensive and well-informed "average" to reference for collecting and investing.
