It wasn’t long before Lile got promoted to Triple-A this year. After 22 games, he got the bump. His success has continued through five games. Above are his hitting metrics from Double-A. It’s only from 21 games. Our scouts gave Lile a 60 on his hit tool, 40 on the power, and 45 for speed. The power has never reached double digits, but in Triple-A, his max EV is 109 mph through 5 games.
Lile won’t be a zero in the power department, but he probably won’t run into more than 20. He’s still relatively young, so he could still develop some. Lile has good speed, too. He’s not blazing fast, but he’s definitely capable of stealing. He’s had an 82% success rate in the minors, with the worst being in 2023, and it has gotten better each year.
Being in Triple-A, Lile is on the doorstep of the Majors. He could see some time this year and provide you with a good batting average, a little pop, and some speed. If you missed out on Victor Scott, here is your chance to grab someone with a similar profile. Front and center in the driveway is a shiny Radio Flyer bike! Others are already looking at it, so you must act quickly. It just so happens that your five-year-old's birthday is around the corner. Snatch it up before someone else does.
I admit, it’s not a pretty sight here. But this is not what I expect from Sullivan. Our scouts gave him a 55 on his hit tool, and he earned that last year by striking out only 12.4% of the time and by making contact in the zone a whopping 92.5%. Yes, it was at Single-A, but what a stark contrast this year from last year. It doesn’t look like Sullivan is just selling out for power. He’s pulling the ball less than last year and driving it to centerfield about 10% more. He’s improved his groundball rate, dropping it from 47% to 34%. The ground balls have shifted to line drives. I expect Sullivan to turn things around at some point this year. This might be a case of him playing through an injury or a slow start. Either way, he’s got some significant upside if it all comes together.
You’ve stumbled upon an old pocket knife. It’s dirty and rusty, but if you clean it up, it just might work. There are plenty of uses for it, and if one tool is broken, you can use the others. The seller might even throw it in for free if you tell him you are an Eagle Scout.
