As we inch closer to conference tournament play, teams across the country are either padding their RPI rankings or playing defense to protect their current standing. This is the time of year when programs get strategic, finding ways to squeeze in games or cancel midweek matchups altogether to avoid the risk of surprise losses that could impact their postseason outlook.
This week’s midweek slate was relatively light, with top-tier teams choosing to sit tight and weather delays impacting games throughout the Midwest, Ohio Valley, and Atlantic Coast. Still, several players made the most of their opportunities and below are the top performers from this week’s midweek action.

Wilson Weber, C, Oregon State (Independent) - 3 AB, 2 R, 2 H, 4 RBI, 2 HR, 2 BB, 1 K
Out on the West Coast, Oregon State wrapped up a much-needed series win of Hawai’i on Sunday, keeping their postseason hopes alive as they fight to stay in the conversation for hosting a regional. While early-season expectations had Corvallis pegged as a potential regional site; however, an inconsistent offense has left the Beavers firmly on the bubble, making every game moving forward critical in their first season as an independent following the disbandment of the Pac-12.
In Sunday’s finale though, the offense finally clicked. Oregon State broke a scoreless tie in the sixth and never looked back, riding big days from several key bats to a 7–1 win. Three players recorded multiple hits, with Carson McEntire and Wilson Weber leading the charge.
McEntire, making his first start of the season in right field, set a career high with three hits. He singled in the second, drove in the game's first run with a double in the sixth, and added a solo home run to right field in the eighth. It marked his second multi-hit game and third multi-RBI performance of the year, his first homer since April 15 at UCLA.
Weber, one of the more consistent bats in the lineup this spring, provided the knockout blow late. He homered in the seventh (a solo shot), then launched a three-run blast in the eighth to cap off the Beavers’ four-run inning. His two home runs gave him seven on the season and five extra-base hits in the series, including two doubles in the opener and another home run in Game 2.
The Beavers totaled eight hits in the win, with McEntire and Weber accounting for five of them. Weber also drove in four runs, continuing to be a key source of power for an Oregon State team that will need more games like this offensively if they hope to play in Corvallis this June.
With the offense finally showing signs of life, the Beavers may still have time to hold their regional hosting opportunity, though the margin for error is slim with them hosting Iowa this weekend which will dictate their regional hosting fate.
