Ben Jacobs, LHP Arizona State - 4.1 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, 96 Pitches

The UCLA transfer continues to pitch well; unfortunately, he was tagged with the loss here, as he gave up the only runs of the game. But this happens when your offense doesn’t help you out. His slider was strong in this outing when I went back and rewatched it. Outside of the two runs he gave up, he looked sharp. He was able to locate his fastball, but unfortunately a poor BYU squad got the better of him and ASU yesterday.

Nathan Taylor, RHP Cincinnati - 7 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 9 K, 110 Pitches

Another day that ends in 'y' means another solid start by Nathan Taylor. Taylor earned the win after pitching 7 innings with 9 strikeouts. He continues to be one of the more underrated arms in college baseball, having struck out 84 batters in 81 innings this season. Taylor has been the reliable presence the Cincinnati rotation needs due to his well-commanded fastball and sharp secondary pitches.

Sean Yongerman, RHP Oklahoma State -  4.1 IP, 5 H, 3 R, ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 75 Pitches

Since coming from the bullpen to the rotation, Sean Youngerman has been Oklahoma State’s best starting pitcher. His fastball is electric, and he pairs that with a good slider. Youngerman has been leaned on to be the guy for Oklahoma State as he has been one of the few bright spots. The fastball is effective now, and with the emergence of a good slider and the ability to throw strikes, Youngerman might be cementing himself as a top-three-round selection in the upcoming MLB draft. I keep taking him in the third round in my mock draft simulations.
