If they weather can delay a baseball game it's a fair excuse to delay the sheet right? (If not that's my bad).

Arkansas 3 - Murray State 0

The magical run has come to an end. Anyone perform well?

Issac Silva, RHP Murray State - 6 IP, 6 H, ER, 2 BB 7 K (90 pitches)

Isaac performed well. I mean this was one of college’s best offenses and he went toe to toe with a top draft pick and *barely* lost. If you feel a need to support him I stumbled upon this while looking for background info. The Troy transfer had some tough assignments and tough showings coming into this start. 4.1 IP 6 ER against Georgia State, 4 IP and 3 ER against Ole Miss, 5.1 IP and 6 ER against Duke.  If were being honest, this is his best start since April, and what a time to have it.

Graham Kelham, RHP Murray State - 3 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 4 K (53 pitches)

The man gave everything he had for this team over the last few weeks. He came into the tournament, a transfer from NAIA University of St. Francis, and pitched against some of the best teams in college baseball and lowered his ERA. As a reliever he pitched 14.1 Innings, recorded 4 multi-inning saves and 1 win all while being the defacto last man out of the bullpen. His gritty outing against Ole Miss where he was told it was him or no one might be the most underrated performance of the tournament. I am so impressed by this young man and hope he gets a shot at a pro deal.

Murray State Offense - Don’t worry about the stats

Now obviously none of the Murray State hitters played well, but I want to shout out this offense as a whole. They are the embodiment of what makes collegiate sports so much fun. I’m sure the combined NIL amount is shockingly low, I know for a fact they didn’t even use all of their scholarships. This is a basketball school that made baseball fun to watch in June.  Now to get off my soapbox and talk about things you want to hear from me.

Gage Wood, RHP Arkansas - 9 IP, 19 K, 1 HBP

The first no hitter in the College World Series since 1960. Heck there hasn’t been an individual two hitter since 2018. (Care to wager a guess who was on the wrong end of that two hitter? While I have you here, combined no-hitters are an accomplishment and should not be looked down upon. Back to Wood. He made himself *millions* today. Solidifies himself as a top 6 college arm, and jumps above a tier that was begging for someone to separate themself. Yes the 19 Ks are impressive don’t get me wrong, but it was clear this lineup was not prepared for his fastball and he abused them with it. Not much else to say about this historic performance beyond he could be this years Cade Horton if he follows it up with another stellar performance.

Arkansas will face UCLA  in an elimination game for the opportunity to play LSU.

UCLA 5 -  LSU 9

About time this game wrapped up!

Jared Jones, 1B LSU - 2-for-4, HR, 2 R, 4 RBI, BB, K

Jake Brown, RF LSU - 3-for-5, R, 2 RBI, K

Coming into the bottom of the first, the offense needed some extra juice and they went to Jared. Back-to-back singles from Frey and Milam had LSU threatening, and then Jake singled to score the first run. Jared thought that wasn’t enough and decided that was the best time to break out of a slump. Jared also put the cherry on top with an RBI single in the bottom of the 8th. If LSU is to win they likely need Jones to be “bear” not barely hitting.

Anthony Eyanson, RHP LSU - 3 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, K (44 pitches)

Casan Evans, RHP LSU - 4.1 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 5 K (68 pitches)

Outside of a *rough* first inning, Eyanson was fine. He kind of got BABIP’d in the first inning, but that is what UCLA’s offense does. Not having your best stuff and leaving the game with the lead is still somewhat impressive. Freshman Casan Evans shined as the best pitcher of the game with 4.1 IP of shutdown ball before he lost control a bit. I wish I could give you more but UCLA only had 1 extra base hit and the rain delay stopped mediocre pitching performances from going further.
