This may have been one of the most masterful outings we will ever see in a College World Series finals game. Kade Anderson was dialed in and is one of four pitchers ever to throw a complete-game shutout. Kade Anderson may very well have made himself the number one pick with this outing. It was fantastic; he was mixing in 3000 rpm (which for the most part I don’t care about raw RPM numbers, but the curveball was on last night) curveballs deep into the 9th inning. Some might say he has that dog in him, and I would tend to agree. It’s a mid-90s fastball that gets up to 97. The curveball and slider are really good offerings on their own, and he has a changeup that gets batters to chase 46% of the time. You might quibble with him throwing 132 pitches in a start, but this is his last real start until 2026 because whatever team drafts him is going to assuredly shut him down. Not a bad way to go out.
