It was a day of injuries as Pablo Lopez, Wyatt Langford, Fernando Tatis Jr., Jake Cronenworth were all removed. It’s yet to be seen the severity of each, but these are some significant players dealing with health issues.

3-for-4, 2 HR, 2 R, 5 RBI, BB

An incredible display of power from James Wood who now has 3 HR in the last two contests with all of them coming against LHP. I’m trying not to overreact, but these lefty-lefty HR look a ton like Shohei Ohtani to me. Once he cleans up some swing decisions, which should just come with experience, we’re looking at a future 40 HR, 20 SB guy.

Clay Holmes, RHP NYM (MLB)

5.1 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 10 K

The 10 K were more indicative of the performance than the 4 ER. The 1st inning was rough then he settled down and mowed through the Marlins lineup over the next 4 innings. Holmes would leave the game with one out in the 6th inning and men on second and third. A groundout and homer would add both those ER to his ledger. The kick change looked decent but he generally dominated with fastball/slider. The strikeouts don’t do much to curtail the hype and honestly, I wouldn’t blame anyone for being excited here. He’s a hold against perceived value right now.
