Michael Conforto, LF LAD (MLB)

3-for-4, HR, 2 2B, R, RBI, BB

Conforto’s got a big hole to dig himself out of at this point, but he has hit much better in the month of July, hitting .276/.333/.517 with 3 HR in 20 games. His numbers under the hood don’t support him hitting under .200, so there’s reason to believe he will be better as the season goes along. Conforto’s contact rates are similar to his career marks and his BABIP is only .230. It’s still been a brutal season to this point, but I do think Conforto will still be a serviceable piece down the stretch for LA. 

Alex Bregman, 3B BOS (MLB)

1-for-3, HR, R, 2 RBI, BB, K

Betting on himself this offseason could not have turned out much better for Alex Bregman, who is having his best season since his 2019 campaign where he was the runner-up for AL MVP. He had the big swing of the game for the Red Sox, launching a two-run homer off Dustin May to give the Red Sox a lead they would never relinquish and helped them take the series from LA. Boston cleared a ton of salary when they traded Rafael Devers, so they really need to extend Bregman before he opts out and hits the market this winter.

Chapman left the game with the trainer in the top of the 8th inning, but thankfully it was just back spasms and nothing serious. He will not need an IL stint and should be ready to go again in a couple days.
