Hello and welcome, everyone, to another rendition of the DSL Weekly Rundown. It was a lighter week down in the DSL, and unfortunately, that meant fewer standout performances. In today's rundown are a few prospects you might be aware of, one that is flying under the radar, a power-over-hit Mariners bat, and a pitcher! Without further ado, let's get into another Weekly Rundown.

Diego Tornes, OF ATL

9-for-18, 3B, 2B, 7 R, 5 RBI, 8 SB

There might be no more worthwhile name to start this off with than talking about Diego Tornes. Tornes is one of the hottest hitters in all of the DSL; he hit .474/.545/.632 over his last week. What has been impressive is the speed he has shown to this point; he has twelve stolen bases on the season. He has yet to hit a home run in a game, but on the season he has three doubles and three triples, so at some point, the physical 6-2, 178-pound prospect will start hitting balls over the fence.

He has a swing geared toward driving batted balls, though sometimes those batted balls don't fall over the fence. Ultimately, I am not ever really concerned with DSL homers. A lot of what I am looking for is a semblance of an approach: are there some contact skills here, and did they hit a few extra-base hits? Evaluating steals at this level is tough, but it is normally a good sign when a player steals a few bags because that goes toward their general athleticism.

The Braves' IFAs of recent memory have not been great; a lot of that can be tied to the scandal, and Perdomo is not hitting well in the complex league. I keep looking and hoping there is something there. Tornes' blend of approach and some damage on contact, with good athleticism and a great frame, should get Braves fans excited. Also, fantasy managers might be able to scoop the next big thing to come from the DSL as people try to chase the adrenaline high from last year's Jesus Made and Luis Peña class.
