Arizona Fall League Top 75 Hitters

Photo via Peter Alonso’s Twitter, @PeterAlonso20.

With the Arizona Fall League in the not too distant future, and our Prospect Rankings kicking off this week, it seemed only fitting to rank the top bats in the late Fall Classic. Matt Thompson and myself created separate lists, ranking every hitter in the Fall League. We then averaged the two ranks and argued for players to move up or down. Below is the top 75 of that scrum, with some reasoning for why each player is ranked where they are. Enjoy!

  1. Vladimir Guerrero Jr., 3B Toronto Blue Jays

    Age: 19

    Highest Level: AAA

    .381/.437/.636, 20 HR, .255 ISO, 194 wRC+, 9.3% K%, 9.1% Bb%, 3 SB

Naturally the best hitter in the minors would be the best hitter in the Fall League.

  2. Taylor Trammell, OF Cincinnati Reds

    Age: 21

    Highest Level: A+

    .277/.375/.406, 8 HR, .128 ISO, 129 wRC+, 22.8% K%, 12.6% Bb%, 25 SB

A dynamic offensive player still honing his immense talent into a potential All-Star.

  3. Cristian Pache, OF Atlanta Braves

    Age: 19

    Highest Level: AA

    .279/.307/.410, 9 HR, .131 ISO, 102 wRC+, 19.6% K%, 4.0% Bb%, 7 SB

Prospects with one 80-grade tool are few and far between, those with two are peerless. Pache matches an 80 glove with 80 speed and a flourishing offensive profile.

  4. Keston Hiura, 2B Milwaukee Brewers

    Age: 22

    Highest Level: AA

    .293/.357/.464, 13 HR, .171 ISO, 133 wRC+, 19.3% K%, 6.7% Bb% 15 SB

The second best hit tool in the Fall League after Vlad. Hiura impressed in his full season debut slashing .293/.357/.464, across three levels.

  5. Andres Gimenez, SS New York Mets

    Age: 20

    Highest Level: AA

    .281/.347/.409, 6 HR, .128 ISO, 116 wRC+, 18.3% K%, 6.2% Bb%, 38 SB

One of 2018’s biggest breakouts. Hit, speed, defensive value, and developing power make Gimenez a favorite amongst the Prospects Live staff.

  6. Luis Robert, OF Chicago White Sox

    Age: 21

    Highest Level: A+

    .269/.333/.360, 0 HR, .091 ISO, 99 wRC+, 25% K%, 5.8% Bb% 15 SB

We got our first looks at the Cuban sensation throughout a disjointed and injury riddled season. The supreme talent is evident, but he’s far from ready.

  7. Estavan Florial, OF New York Yankees

    Age: 20

    Highest Level: A+

    .283/.377/.422, 6 HR, .138 ISO, 130 wRC+, 24.6% K%, 12.8% Bb%, 16 SB

After a breakout 2017 Florial came back to earth, at least statistically speaking. There was growth at the plate as Florial’s approach blossomed.

  8. Carter Kieboom, SS Washington Nationals

    Age: 21

    Highest Level: AA

    .280/.357/.444, 16 HR, .164 ISO, 128 wRC+, 19.5% K%, 10.4% Bb%, 9 SB

The top performer in the Nationals system following the promotion of Juan Soto. Kieboom has a bat-first middle infield profile with an outside shot to stick at short.

  9. Keibert Ruiz, C Los Angeles Dodgers

    Age: 20

    Highest Level: AA

    .268/.328/.401, 12 HR, .133 ISO, 100 wRC+, 8.0% K%, 6.3% Bb%, 0 SB

The greatness of Ruiz’s 2018 goes unnoticed, but his combination of plate discipline and baseball IQ set him apart from his catching peers.

  10. Peter Alonso, 1B New York Mets

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AAA

    .285/.395/.579, 36 HR, .295 ISO, 158 wRC+, 22.3% K%, 13.2% Bb%, 0 SB

The call to Flushing didn’t come, but Alonso established himself as one of the top power bats in the minors.

  11. Khalil Lee, OF Kansas City Royals

    Age: 20

    Highest Level: AA

    .263/.382/.390, 6 HR, .127 ISO, 124 wRC+, 24.6% K%, 14.1% Bb%, 16 SB

Lee has oodles of tools but has yet to truly scrape his lofty ceiling. The development of the hit tool will be his FV’s deciding factor.

  12. Michael Chavis, 1B/3B Boston Red Sox - Mesa Solar Sox

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AAA

    .298/.381/.538, 9 HR, .240 ISO, 158 wRC+, 26.8% K%, 9.8% Bb%, 3 SB

A controversial player looking for a drama-free AFL experience. He hit .308/.382/.553 in 42 games between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Pawtucket.

  13. Jazz Chisholm, SS Arizona Diamondbacks

    Age: 20

    Highest Level: A+

    .272/.329/.513, 25 HR, .241 ISO, 131 wRC+, 29.7% K%, 7.8% Bb%, 17 SB

Elite athlete at a premium position. Needs to calm down that overly aggresive approach or risk getting exposed.

  14. Daulton Varsho, C Arizona Diamondbacks

    Age: 22

    Highest Level: A+

    .294/.367/.475, 12 HR, .180 ISO, 128 wRC+, 20.3% K%, 8.5% Bb%, 19 SB

Will he catch or will he not, that is the question. What aren't questions are the offensive presence and athleticism.

  15. Luis Alexander Basabe, OF Chicago White Sox

    Age: 22

    Highest Level: AA

    .258/.354/.445, 15 HR, .187 ISO, 127 wRC+, 27.2% K%, 12.4% Bb%, 16 SB

The third piece in the Sale trade has the power-speed-defense combo to be a star. Needs to improve hit tool to really shine. Easier said than done.

  16. Brent Rooker, OF Minnesota Twins

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AA

    .254/.333/.465, 22 HR, .211 ISO, 124 wRC+, 26.4% K%, 9.9% Bb%, 6 SB

Rooker can hit a fastball, but in this environment he should expect to see very few of those. His BP sessions will become "can't miss."

  17. Daz Cameron, OF Detroit Tigers

    Age: 21

    Highest Level: AAA

    .264/.343/.406, 8 HR, .142 ISO, 113 wRC+, 25.7% K%, 9.7% Bb%, 24 SB

Has become the best piece in the return for Verlander. 5's and 6's across the board here.

  18. Nico Hoerner, SS Chicago Cubs

    Age: 21

    Highest Level: A

    .327/.450/.571, 2 HR, .245 ISO, 187 wRC+, 6.7% K%, 15.0% Bb%, 6 SB

An aggressive assignment to the AFL for the '18 first rounder. Looking to make up for lost time after an elbow injury cut season short.

  19. Julio Pablo Martinez, OF Texas Rangers

    Age: 22

    Highest Level: Short Season

    .266/.378/.457, 9 HR, .191 ISO, 135 wRC+, 24.8% K%, 14.1% Bb%, 13 SB

Striking out 25% of the time while being older than your peers isn't generally a great sign. I'll give JPM a pass since it was his first taste of U.S.

  20. Evan White, 1B Seattle Mariners

    Age: 22

    Highest Level: AAA

    .300/.371/.453, 11 HR, .154 ISO, 124 wRC+, 19.4% K%, 9.4% Bb%, 4 SB

A mid-season swing change reaped major benefits for the former UK star, hitting .363/.454/.703 with 5 homers in August. His post-adjustment performance is an interesting storyline in Arizona.

  21. Hudson Potts, 3B San Diego Padres

    Age: 19

    Highest Level: AA

    .260/.335/.455, 19 HR, .194 ISO, 112 wRC+, 26.8% K%, 8.7% Bb%, 4 SB

Potts showed growth from an approach standpoint this year doubling his walks, while simultaneously showing growth in his carrying tool: power.

  22. Bobby Dalbec, 1B/3B Boston Red Sox

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AA

    .257/.361/.558, 32 HR, .301 ISO, 153 wRC+, 32.4% K%, 12.2% Bb%, 3 SB

Bounce-back year for the Red Sox’s best minor league performer in 2018. Dalbec brings a three-true-outcome profile with above-average value at third.

  23. Shed Long, 2B Cincinnati Reds

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AA

    .261/.353/.412, 12 HR, .150 ISO, 120 wRC+, 23.6% K%, 10.9% Bb%, 19 SB

A strong across the board profile makes Long a prospect you must scout beyond his stat line. Though the stat line's not too shabby. A bag of 50 grades at second, with some power and speed.

  24. Jahmai Jones, 2B Los Angeles Angels

    Age: 21

    Highest Level: AA

    .239/.337/.380, 10 HR, .141 ISO, 101 wRC+, 20.4% K%, 12.0% Bb%, 24 SB

A successful move to second gets lost in Jones' somewhat down 2018 at the plate. However he was in fact above league average (104 wRC+) at Double-A in his age-20 season.

  25. Cavan Biggio, 2B/OF Toronto Blue Jays

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AA

    .252/.388/.499, 26 HR, .247 ISO, 145 wRC+, 26.3% K%, 17.8% Bb%, 20 SB

A swing adjustment blasted Biggio onto the radar, his ability to not only hit for power, but get on base at an elite level (17.8% BB) allows him to move off second and still profile as an MLB regular.

  26. Lucius Fox, SS Tampa Bay Rays

    Age: 21

    Highest Level: AA

    .268/.351/.341, 3 HR, .073 ISO, 104 wRC+, 18.9% K%, 9.5% Bb%, 29 SB

A freak athlete who’s game is predicated on his plus plus speed. He's flashed the ability to hit in stretches, but has yet to out together a truly great season.

  27. Monte Harrison, OF Miami Marlins

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AA

    .240/.316/.399, 19 HR, .159 ISO, 104 wRC+, 36.9% K%, 7.5% Bb%, 28 SB

Off the charts athleticism, plus power, and defensive value. The hit tool is a major issue at the moment, if he can hit enough to get to his power and use his legs Harrison could be dynamic.

  28. Buddy Reed, OF San Diego Padres

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AA

    .271/.319/.435, 13 HR, .164 ISO, 101 wRC+, 27.3% K%, 6.7% Bb%, 51 SB

An absolute freak in the field, the switch-hitting Reed broke out offensively in the Cal league, but crashed down to earth in 43 Double-A games. Defense and speed are the carrying tools, but is there more in the bat than expected?

  29. Yu Chang, SS Cleveland Indians

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AAA

    .256/.330/.411, 13 HR, .155 ISO, 109 wRC+, 27.8% K%, 8.5% Bb%, 4 SB

A slightly above average offensive player at short, Chang has thunder in his bat, can run a little, and plays all over the dirt.

  30. Bryan Reynolds, OF Pittsburgh Pirates

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AA

    .302/.381/.438, 7 HR, .136 ISO, 128 wRC+, 19.1% K%, 11.2% Bb%, 4 SB

Former Vanderbilt standout, Reynolds is a switch-hitter with an above-average hit tool and just average power. Many in the Pirates organization believe there is more pop in the bat.

  31. Luke Raley, 1B Minnesota Twins

    Age: 24

    Highest Level: AA

    .275/.350/.471, 20 HR, .196 ISO, 125 wRC+, 24.9% K%, 6.5% Bb%, 4 SB

Raley was the highest D2 player taken in the 2016 draft and hasn't looked out of place in pro-ball. A muscle-bound slugger with big natural power, Raley needs to continue to improve his plate approach in order to make it as an everyday regular.

  32. Tyler Nevin, 1B/3B Colorado Rockies

    Age: 21

    Highest Level: A+

    .328/.386/.503, 13 HR, .175 ISO, 141 wRC+, 18.5% K%, 8.2% Bb%, 4 SB

Nevin took advantage of the friendly confines of Lancaster this season, hitting 11 of his 13 homers at home. He did however hit .341 in road games, hinting that perhaps his .889 OPS wasn't all smoke and Lancaster.

  33. Jake Rogers, C Detroit Tigers

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AA

    .219/.305/.412, 17 HR, .193 ISO, 98 wRC+, 27.5% K%, 10.0% Bb%, 7 SB

One of the best defensive backstops in the minors, offensive profile took a step back in 2018, but there's still some pop in the bat.

  34. Cole Tucker, SS Pittsburgh Pirates

    Age: 22

    Highest Level: AA

    .259/.333/.356, 5 HR, .097 ISO, 93 wRC+, 17.7% K%, 9.3% Bb%, 35 SB

Speed, defense, and contact is Tucker's game, he'll never hit double-digits homers, but he could steal 25-plus bases while playing an above-average short.

  35. Austin Listi, OF Philadelphia Phillies

    Age: 24

    Highest Level: AA

    .312/.412/.502, 18 HR, .190 ISO, 160 wRC+, 18.5% K%, 12.2% Bb%, 0 SB

The 17th-round pick burst onto the scene in 2018, as he showed above average hitting ability across High-A and Double-A. A tick above average power, but Listi is a on base machine that avoids strikeouts.

  36. Eli White, 2B/SS Oakland Athletics

    Age: 24

    Highest Level: AA

    .306/.388/.450, 9 HR, .145 ISO, 132 wRC+, 20.1% K%, 10.7% Bb%, 18 SB

White does a little of everything well, including logging time at three different infield positions, and the occasional centerfield. He slashed .308/.388/.450 with 9 homers and 18 steals. A true sleeper.

  37. Izzy Wilson, OF Atlanta Braves

    Age: 20

    Highest Level: A+

    .223/.305/.349, 8 HR, .126 ISO, 90 wRC+, 29.4% K%, 10.3% Bb%, 16 SB

Izzy is a tooled-up, off-the-charts athlete with holes in his swing. Lots to dream on in the power and speed department, but there's a lot of growth needed.

  38. Lane Thomas, OF St. Louis Cardinals

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AAA

    .264/.333/.489, 27 HR, .225 ISO, 120 wRC+, 23.3% K%, 8.7% Bb%, 17 SB

It's been a slow burn for Thomas, but he broke out in 2018 slashing .264/.333/.489 with 27 bombs and 17 steals. Possible second division regular.

  39. Abraham Toro-Hernandez, 3B Houston Astros

    Age: 21

    Highest Level: AA

    .247/.345/.435, 16 HR, .188 ISO, 119 wRC+, 19.6% K%, 11.3% Bb%, 8 SB

Above-average plate approach, some power, and a rocket arm at third make Toro an interesting player to watch. Slips under the radar, but could gain fans in Arizona.

  40. Austin Allen, C San Diego Padres

    Age: 24

    Highest Level: AA

    ..290/.351/.506, 22 HR, .215 ISO, 130 wRC+, 19.5% K%, 7.4% Bb%, 0 SB

Hit first catcher with 60-plus-grade power, and he gets to it. Has connected for 44 homers the last two years while maintaining a 20% strikeout rate and looks like a DH profile.

  41. Bryson Brigman, OF Miami Marlins

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AA

    .310/.370/.395, 3 HR, .085 ISO, 113 wRC+, 14.1% K%, 7.7% Bb%, 21 SB

Speed, hit, and glove are all above average to plus tools, giving him value at second. Questions remain regarding his Cal League breakout, Brigman did hit .327 after moving to Miami at the deadline.

  42. Skye Bolt, OF Oakland Athletics

    Age: 24

    Highest Level: AA

    .260/.347/.474, 19 HR, .214 ISO, 121 wRC+, 23.3% K%, 11.1% Bb%, 19 SB

Toolsy former 4th-rounder, Bolt just missed a 20-20 season in 2018 by a steal and a homer. Breakout year for Bolt, but he did most of his damage at a 24-year-old in the Cal league.

  43. Brian Miller, OF Miami Marlins

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AA

    .295/.338/.355, 0 HR, .060 ISO, 99 wRC+, 11.7% K%, 5.7% Bb%, 40 SB

A standout at UNC, Miller has made his bones in his short professional career on his two plus tools. His hitting and his speed. Miller hit .295 with 40 steals in 2018, but he didn't hit a single homer in 128 games.

  44. Heath Quinn, OF San Francisco Giants

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: A+

    .300/.376/.485, 14 HR, .185 ISO, 133 wRC+, 24.1% K%, 10.3% Bb%, 4 SB

After a lost 2017, Quinn rebounded in 2018 putting up a respectable .300/.376/.485, but has yet to tap into his 60-grade raw power.

  45. Trent Giambrone, 2B/SS/OF Chicago Cubs

    Age: 24

    Highest Level: AA

    .251/.333/.440, 17 HR, .188 ISO, 118 wRC+, 19.5% K%, 10.1% Bb%, 26 SB

A scrappy utility type, with some speed and power. Giambrone became the spirit animal of Matt Thompson and Ralph in Prospects Live's early years.

  46. Will Craig, 1B Pittsburgh Pirates

    Age: 23

    HIghest Level: AA

    .248/.321/.448, 20 HR, .200 ISO, 110 wRC+, 23.3% K%, 7.7% Bb%, 6 SB

Added power to his game this year, but at the expense of his approach. Still an improvement for a first base-only type.

  47. Pavin Smith, 1B Arizona Diamondbacks

    Age: 22

    Highest Level: A+

    .255/.343/.392, 11 HR, .137 ISO, 101 wRC+, 12.9% K%, 11.3% Bb%, 3 SB

Pavin Smith is Will Craig in 2017, maybe a better Will Craig, but the issues are the same. Pavin Smith can hit, but will he ever find enough power to be an impact bat?

  48. Myles Straw, OF Houston Astros

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: MLB

    .291/.381/.353, 1 HR, .062 ISO, 105 wRC+, 17.1% K%, 12.2% Bb%, 70 SB

Elite speedster, that loves going the other way, the drawback: 20-grade power. Straw is a speed-first, fourth outfielder.

  49. Drew Ellis, 3B Arizona Diamondbacks

    Age: 22

    Highest Level: A+

    .246/.331/.429, 15 HR, .183 ISO, 105 wRC+, 19.5% K%, 10.4% Bb%, 2 SB

A second rounder out of Louisville, Ellis is a fly-ball-heavy hitter (49.9% FB%) with above average approach, but the carrying tool is power. The 15 homers aren't what you'd expect from that profile in the Cal League, but I wouldn't write off Ellis.

  50. Sam Hilliard, OF Colorado Rockies

    Age: 24

    Highest Level: AA

    .262/.327/.389, 9 HR, .126 ISO, 99 wRC+, 31.2% K%, 8.5% Bb%, 23 SB

A tall lanky athlete with a bag of average skills, has a future fourth outfielder profile. Put up big numbers in comfy environments early in his career.

  51. Andy Young, 2B/3B St. Louis Cardinals

    Age: 24

    Highest Level: AA

    .289/.379/.479, 21 HR, .190 ISO, 144 wRC+, 16.9% K%, 7.6% Bb%, 4 SB

Utility guys that don’t play short have to really hit, and good thing Young does. All those Cardinals-devil-magic tweets will get real old real quick.

  52. Ryan Boldt, OF Tampa Bay Rays

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AA

    .274/.348/.461, 7 HR, .187 ISO, 127 wRC+, 21.2% K%, 8.8% Bb%, 12 SB

Boldt flashes a little bit of everything. Above-average runner, has some thunder in the bat, and plays above-average outfield defense. He should be on your (Doppler) radar.

  53. Ronnie Dawson, OF Houston Astros

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AA

    .258/.333/.428, 16 HR, .170 ISO, 114 wRC+, 26.1% K%, 9.0% Bb%, 35 SB

We've been waiting for Dawson to finally tap into that raw power in games, and alteration to his batted ball profile saw a slight increase in power output. In trying to hit the ball in the air more the strikeout rate did jump up though, but a guy limited to left field needs to hit a little better to hold down that spot.

  54. Ray-Patrick Didder, SS/OF Atlanta Braves

    Age: 24

    Highest Level: AA

    .232/.331/.325, 4 HR, .093 ISO, 93 wRC+, 26.0%, 10.0% Bb%, 27 SB

Didder is a nice fit for a National League club because he can play all over. Offensively he has a good eye and plus-plus speed. He’s a true swiss-army knife.

  55. Daniel Johnson, OF Washington Nationals

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AA

    .269/.327/.412, 7 HR, .144 ISO, 106 wRC+, 22.2% K%, 6.0% Bb%, 22 SB

Johnson had a 20-20 season in 2017, but wasn't able to come close to repeating the power output this year at Double-A. In a system loaded with young outfielders, it's hard to see Johnson as anything other than a fourth outfielder.

  56. Arquimedes Gamboa, SS Philadelphia Phillies

    Age: 21

    Highest Level: A+

    .214/.304/.279, 2 HR, .065 ISO, 74 wRC+, 22.3% K%, 10.7% Bb%, 6 SB

A plus runner with good contact skills, but strikeout rate jumped up this year. He will stick at short, has plus speed and should have double-digit power when he fills out.

  57. Aramis Garcia, C San Francisco Giants

    Age: 25

    Highest Level: MLB

    .233/.285/.381, 11 HR, .147 ISO, 82 wRC+, 23.8% K%, 6.0% Bb%, 0 SB

Average defense and above-average pop here. That should be enough to make him Buster Posey's long-term backup. Performed well in his MLB cup of coffee for a Giants squad that was desperate for offense.

  58. Thairo Estrada, 2B/SS New York Yankees

    Age: 22

    Highest Level: AAA

    .192/.210/.231, 0 HR, .038 ISO, 21 wRC+, 21.0% K%, 0.0% Bb%, 0 SB

Only limited to 18 games this year after being shot in the off-season. When everything is right Estrada profiles as a utility man with good contact skills that can play a good shortstop. He's one of the players out here auditioning for a spot on their team’s 40-man.

  59. Trent Grisham, OF Milwaukee Brewers

    Age: 21

    Highest Level: AA

    .233/.356/.337, 7 HR, .104 ISO, 105 wRC+, 21.5% K%, 15.6% Bb%, 11 SB

Grisham is a is a corner-outfield-only bat that presently doesn't have the power to profile in one of those spots. However, that's often the last part of the package to arrive and the batted-ball data and plate skills are both outstanding. He could be a sneaky breakout player in 2019.

  60. Laz Rivera, 2B/SS Chicago White Sox

    Age: 24

    Highest Level: A+

    .314/.361/.481, 13 HR, .167 ISO, 139 wRC+, 17.9% K%, 2.5% Bb%, 17 SB

Laz Rivera has posted contact rates above 80% for both of his pro seasons thus far. Except this year he added 47 extra-base hits and swiped 17 bases. He’s hyper-aggressive hitter though, walking at a 2.5% clip, but mustered a .314 average. Interesting player, but he seems destined for utility role.

  61. Connor Marabell, OF Cleveland Indians

    Age: 24

    Highest Level: AAA

    .275/.315/.448, 13 HR, .173 ISO, 110 wRC+, 14.9% K%, 5.2% Bb%, 5 SB

Marabell posts good minor league defensive numbers at all three outfield spots. He tallied 49 extra base hits while showing a bit of speed and striking out below a 15% clip for the second year in a row. You could do worse than employ Marabell as your fourth outfielder.

  62. Josh Ockimey, 1B Boston Red Sox

    Age: 22

    Highest Level: AAA

    .245/.356/.455, 20 HR, .210 ISO, 126 wRC+, 31.0% K%, 14.6% Bb%, 1 SB

Ockimey has a very stiff swing but the hands and wrists are so powerful that he's hit enough to get by to this point. He will take a walk but that 30% strikeout rate really caps the ceiling here. At best he projects out as a second-division regular at first base, a platoon option or a DH.

  63. Travis Blankenhorn, 2B/3B Minnesota Twins

    Age: 22

    Highest Level: A+

    .231/.299/.387, 11 HR, .156 ISO, 97 wRC+, 25.8% K%, 6.9% Bb%, 6 SB

The 3rd-rounder in 2015 needs to continue to hit because he projects as a utility guy that doesn't play shortstop. That's the type of player that's getting squeezed out as bullpens get deeper and deeper. He does flash enough power and hit tool to be a second baseman on a team that doesn't prioritize defense.

  64. Cody Thomas, OF Los Angeles Dodgers

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: A+

    .285/.355/.497, 19 HR, .212 ISO, 128 wRC+, 29.2% K%, 8.6% Bb%, 5 SB

Former two-sport star, Thomas is a freak athlete with monstrous raw power and above-average speed. The swing-and-miss issues take the air right out of the balloon though.

  65. Charles LeBlanc, 3B Texas Rangers

    Age: 22

    Highest Level: A+

    .274/.349/.412, 10 HR, .139 ISO, 117 wRC+, 22.5% K%, 10.5% Bb%, 7 SB

Been tracking this kid since his Pitt days, and he's a good athlete with a quick bat and strong arm. His plate skills are strong and he's got more power in their than he's shown. Should stick on the left side of the infield.

  66. Ian Miller, OF Seattle Mariners

    Age: 26

    Highest Level: AAA

    .261/.333/.327, 2 HR, .066 ISO, 78 wRC+, 18.6% K%, 9.0% Bb%, 33 SB

Miller is a slap hitter that makes a lot of contact and will take a walk. He has plus speed and has put up strong stolen base numbers in the minor leagues. He is an above-average glove at all three spots with an arm good enough for right field.

  67. Joe McCarthy, 1B/OF Tampa Bay Rays

    Age: 24

    Highest Level: AAA

    .244/.356/.461, 8 HR, .217 ISO, 132 wRC+, 24.1% K%, 13.4% Bb%, 4 SB

A serious back injury at UVA has stripped him of some of his athleticism, but McCarthy still has the strong plate skills and batted ball skills to be a Major League piece. He uses all fields but most of his power is to his pull-side. I like the hit tool here, and he can even run a bit but it's hard to see a long term starting role on this Tampa team. First base-outfield profile.

  68. Darrick Hall, 1B Philadelphia Phillies

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AA

    .244/.323/.462, 26 HR, .218 ISO, 119 wRC+, 22.3% K%, 6.8% Bb%, 2 SB

Left-handed hitter that has put up strong power numbers at every stop so far, with 29 (20 at Dallas Baptist), 29, and 26 homers the last three seasons. Has a decent feel for hit as the strikeout totals have been manageable. There's some legit power here, don't just chalk it up to him playing at Reading. He's done it before.

  69. Josh Fuentes, 1B Colorado Rockies

    Age: 25

    Highest Level: AAA

    .327/.354/.517, 14 HR, .191 ISO, 124 wRC+, 17.6% K%, 3.6% Bb%, 3 SB

Nolan Arenado's first cousin, Fuentes put up a strong campaign at Triple-A Albuquerque. The 25-year-old played on the corners and put up a 124 wRC+, so he's worth a look.

  70. D.J. Wilson, OF Chicago Cubs

    Age: 21

    Highest Level: A+

    .219/.315/.287, 1 HR, .068, 76 wRC+, 26.1% K%, 11.8%, 10 SB

Wilson has plus speed and plays a mean centerfield, but a below average hit tool drags the rest of the offensive profile down. He does make up for it a bit with his 9.5% career walk rate, but still more negatives than positives at this point.

  71. Dom Mirogilo, C Arizona Diamondbacks

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AA

    .231/.259/.308, 0 HR, .077 ISO, 59 wRC+, 14.8% K%, 1.2% Bb%, 0 SB

Miroglio had a strong defensive reputation out of college and that has carried with him since turning pro. He's also discovered how to hit and was in the running for the California League batting title before his promotion to Double-A. Of all the catching prospects for the D-Backs, the Dom is the most likely to remain in the crouch.

  72. Tommy Edman, 2B/SS St. Louis Cardinals

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AAA

    .301/.354/.402, 7 HR, .100 ISO, 108 wRC+, 15.2% K%, 7.5% Bb%, 30 SB

Edman has a strong hit tool. He makes contact at a high rate and drives the ball into the gaps, and he's advanced enough mentally to swipe 30 bases this year despite just average speed. Edman has the glove and range to play short but his arm is more suited for second base. Utility projection here, but a strong one.

  73. Daniel Woodrow, OF Detroit Tigers

    Age: 23

    Highest Level: AA

    .317/.371/.397, 3 HR, .080 ISO, 116 wRC+, 18.6% K%, 7.8% Bb%, 23 SB

Woodrow has battled injuries throughout his career, but when he's healthy he's a threat on the bases and an asset in the outfield. He doesn't hit enough to project as anything more than a reserve outfielder.

  74. Mario Feliciano, C Milwaukee Brewers

    Age: 19

    Highest Level: A+

    .213/.291/.331, 3 HR, .119 ISO, 78 wRC+, 34.4% K%, 8.3% Bb%, 2 SB

Felicianos' pro career has been a disappointment to this point, but the tools are there to be a big league catcher. He's raw defensively, but the footwork and defensive skills are present. He was known for his bat put up a nice season in the Midwest League in his full-season debut. He battled injuries this year so I'm not abandoning ship yet, but it wasn't pretty.

  75. Alfredo Rodriguez, SS Cincinnati Reds

    Age: 24

    Highest Level: A+

    .210/273/.312, 2 HR.102 ISO, 69 wRC+, 18.6% K%, 6.4% Bb%, 4 SB

The Reds gave Rodriguez $7 million to sign in 2016 off of the strength of his glove and offensive projection. Well, the glove has been solid, but the offensive numbers have been scary. Rodriguez has struggled and hopefully can use this time in the AFL to make up for some of the development time lost while he was defecting.
