On June 30th I got to attend the inaugural Cape Cod League vs MLB Draft League All-Star Game at Citi Field in Flushing, Queens, NYC. It's not common to get that many draft prospects all in one place just two weeks before draft day. There were 42 2025 draft-eligible prospects in yesterday's action between the two teams there to showcase their skills in front of 30+ MLB scouts. While there were a lot of standout plays and performances, here are 7 of the players who may have upped their draft stock yesterday.

Miguel Sime, RHP

Poly Prep Country Day School (NY), LSU Commit

Miguel Sime is a well-known name at this point in all draft circles and he proved once again yesterday that he is worthy of an early round selection. He started the game, going one inning with a walk and three groundouts. Sime's first nine fastballs were all 99-100 mph and he threw a four more out of the stretch after the walk and they were 97-98. He also flashed an 82-83 mph curveball with good depth.

Sime also has a mid 80s changeup in his bag, but he didn't show it yesterday. While the fastball may very well be a 70-grade pitch already, the biggest concerns in Sime's game is his command of secondary pitches and losing a bit of overall command once he has to pitch out of the stretch. His fastball sometimes begins to sail on him a bit when he moves away from the windup and the velo showed a very slight decline as well. He already has pro-ready size and is very much in the conversation for the draft this year. He also has a chance to make it to campus at LSU unless a team decides to use a second or third round pick on him and dish out a little bit of money (which is a very good possibility).

Henry Ford, OF

University of Virginia

Henry Ford has been pretty much a consensus top 100 prospect for the entire 2025 draft cycle. Yesterday, Ford was 1 for 3 with a walk and a single. His hit was an opposite field liner that left his bat at 100 mph and was off of a 95 mph heater from ACC counterpart Shane Van Dam. He did a good job at keeping his hands inside the baseball and shooting it the other way. He also showed off his arm yesterday by gunning down a runner attempting to score with a one-hop throw on a line in a perfect spot for the catcher to tag out the would-be tying run.

Ford stands at 6'5" with a 220 pound frame and he controls it very well. The thing that stands out the most about his profile is his ability to not only crush fastballs, but stay on off-speed pitches as well. He has a ton of power potential with his size and bat speed and he's also displayed good bat-to-ball ability and patience at the plate as well. The draft-eligible sophomore will potentially require a day-one pick to sway him off of his Tennessee transfer commitment.
