MLB Draft Interviews

Gabriel Hughes

Blessed with talent and guided by the wisdom and experience Seattle Mariners LHP Marco Gonzales, Gonzaga RHP Gabriel Hughes has positioned himself a potential high-round pick in the 2022 MLB Draft. Armed with a mid-90s fastball and a wicked breaking ball, Hughes has his eyes set on postseason ball and the chance to make Idaho proud.

Drew Gilbert

Drew Gilbert hit one of the most epic home runs in college baseball history in 2021. What does he have in store for 2022? We'll see, but whatever he does on the field should culminate in becoming a high draft pick in July's 2022 MLB Draft.

Ross Highfill

Ross Highfill has some of the most impressive physical tools the 2022 MLB Draft has to offer. A catcher by trade, Highfill could comfortably shift to third base or a corner outfield spot as well. A Mississippi State commit, this is one to watch...

Blade Tidwell

Armed with a 99 mph fastball and a wipeout slider, Tennessee RHP Blade Tidwell has the makings of a big league ace. He could be the best starter in the SEC in 2022. Tidwell spent the offseason learning the metrics behind his fastball and now looks to take the next step in stardom this spring.

Jordan Beck

If you like power-hitting outfielders, Jordan Beck is a definitely a guy to know. Anchoring the Volunteers lineup with 15 homers in 2021, Beck is primed for a big 2022 campaign and is positioning himself as a potential first round pick.

Tucker Toman

Armed with a Gary Sheffield waggle and exceptional tools, Hammond School 3B Tucker Toman is one of the more talented prep infielders in this class. A switch-hitter, Toman can affect the game in a number of different ways from both sides of the plate. This is a name to know.

Kody Huff

Kody Huff was awfully unlucky last year at the plate. He put the ball in play and often with authority, but came away with nothing. That said, he still had some rather mammoth moments late in the season. Huff is an athletic backstop who played a little bit of third base for the Cardinal as well. For our money, he's one of the bigger draft sleepers you can find for 2022.

Anthony HalL

Oregon outfielder Anthony Hall has some serious raw power. The junior Duck made a huge impression in 2021 on the field and carried that over into an impressive campaign on the Cape Cod League. It's some of the best power in the Pac-12 in 2022 and his name figures to go near the top of the 2022 Draft.

Parker Messick

Florida State LHP Parker Messick comes armed with a four-pitch arsenal including two impressive breaking balls and a bugs bunny changeup. He's been a long-time performer for the Seminoles and now figures to be one of the premier lefties available in the 2022 Draft.

Cam Collier

Cam Collier has one of the sweetest swings you'll ever see. It's effortless juice with an all-fields approach. Mature beyond his years. Collier has the big arm at third base to complete his profile. He'll be a popular name in the 2022 MLB Draft.

Eric Brown

Eric Brown can do it all. He's slick on the dirt with thunder in the bat. It may be unorthodox at the plate, but scouts love the positions he gets himself into when the ball leaves the pitcher's hand. Brown has the makings of a first round pick and a firecracker, top-of-the-lineup fire starter for his future organization.

Dylan Beavers

Only two players achieved a chase rate south of 15%, a contact rate greater than 80% with an average exit velocity over 92 mph in 2021. No. 33 pick Tyler Black and 2022 Cal outfielder Dylan Beavers. It's easy to like the profile. Beavers can really run and has a very strong arm in the field. He's a prototypical power-hitting corner outfielder with a big future at the next level.

Tommy Specht

Tommy Specht is one of the most tooled up preps in the 2022 class. He's got a huge arm, he's a plus runner, there's immense power upside here and the kid can really go get it in the grass. Specht had a mammoth summer on the circuit and now has positioned himself well at the top of the 2022 MLB Draft.

Daniel Susac

Daniel Susac has it all. He can hit. He's got power. An arm behind the plate. The leadership necessary to run a staff. Susac is a huge draft talent for 2022, but before that, he'll have the chance to lead Arizona to another Omaha birth.

Walter Ford

After reclassifying from the 2023 class, Walter Ford presents one of the most explosive prep profiles in the 2022 class. He'll be awfully young, but he's already touching 97 with a dynamic breaking ball. Ford projects to pitch at the next level, but the raw power is huge too and there are those in the industry that truly believe he's a pro third base prospect as well.

Josh Kasevich

Josh Kasevich is one of the biggest sleepers in the 2022 class, and for good reason. His contact and exit velocity combination can't be matched by almost anybody in this class. The Oregon Ducks shortstop has the making of a good bat at the next level with some similarities to 2020 pick Jordan Westburg. This is a name to know now.

Mikey Romero

Mikey Romero *might* be the best pure hitter in the 2022 MLB Draft class. His bat-to-ball skills are sublime and he works on his craft religiously. Romero has sweet hands, a good arm, and a future at shortstop at the next level. The LSU commit is a big name to know at the top of the 2022 class.

Elijah Green

You'd be hard-pressed to find a better prospect in the 2022 MLB Draft than IMG Academy's own Elijah Green. Blessed with a smattering of double-plus and elite-level tools, Green has the potential few will ever experience. Elijah Green is a guy you need to know for the draft. Period.

Adam Maier

After an impressive Cape Cod stateside debut, Adam Maier has some of the best helium in the 2022 draft class. Now an Oregon Duck, Maier figures to be a weekend starter in the Pac-12 this season where his ceiling is that of a first round righty with dynamic stuff on the mound.

Cole Young

Cole Young is one of the most talented shortstops in the 2022 class. Blessed with a good arm, fantastic barrel control and all the tools necessary to stick at the position, scouts are in love with the whole package. A Duke commit, Young is one of the best young prospects in the 2022 MLB Draft.

Bryce Hubbart

Bryce Hubbart comes armed with a full arsenal of breaking balls, off-speed stuff and deceptive heat. He manipulates his pitches better than most in this draft class and presents some of the best pitchability at the top as well. He was one of the most impressive arms on the Cape in 2021 and figures to anchor an imposing Florida State staff in 2022.

Zach Neto

Zach Neto looks an awful lot like Javier Baez at the plate. He's got the raw power and flare on the field to fit the label too. Neto was one of the best players in the country on the Cape this season, vaulting himself into first round chatter for the 2022 MLB Draft. The Campbell Camels are expecting big things from their shortstop this season.

Chase DeLauter

Chase DeLauter is among the most physically imposing players you'll find in any draft. At 6-foot-5, 235 pounds, DeLauter fills up a program and fills up the box scores night in and night out. He posts some of the most awe-inspiring exit velocities in this class, and was one of the best player in the Cape Cod League in the summer of 2021. DeLauter has all the physical tools necessary to become a first round pick in the 2022 MLB Draft.

Kevin Parada

Kevin Parada is one of the most talented hitters in the entire country playing at a premium position behind the plate, no less. A decorated member of the Georgia Tech program, Parada spent him summer with the US College National Team after a loud 2021 true freshman campaign. He looks to build upon that success in 2022 and figures to be in the conversation near the top of the 2022 MLB Draft.

Brady Neal

IMG Academy's Brady Neal will be one of the youngest players eligible in the 2022 MLB Draft. At 17 years, 10 months, Neal will certainly represent a ton of untapped physical potential for MLB teams. A talented catcher by trade, Neal has a big arm, a proven track record of hitting and an opposite-field approach with significant raw power. Learn more about him here!

Ian (JR) Ritchie Jr.

Ian (JR) Ritchie is one of the most exciting prep arms in the 2022 class. Armed with a 97 mph fastball, a wicked slider, a budding changeup with a developing curveball and 2-seamer, Ritchie features one of the more formidable pitch mixes in the class. Ritchie is renowned for his mechanics and operation on the bump. A UCLA commit, the Bainbridge Island, Washington product has all the makings of a potential first round pick in the 2022 MLB Draft.
