We are so back, everyone. Baseball is back; it never left, but baseball people care about is back. We have the Dodgers versus the Cubs to get us started in Spring Training action. Every day, we will have a Spring Training Daily Sheet to give everyone the notable prospect performances from the day before. This can be a check-in on prospects we have been discussing all offseason, checking in on prospects fighting for a job, or just hanging out again and talking prospects. 

Ivan Brethowr, DH CHC (Cactus League) 1-for-1, HR, R, 3 RBI 

108 off the bat is nothing to sneeze at. The Cubs drafted Ivan Brethowr out of the University of California Santa Barbara in the 7th round, and the main calling card with Ivan is the power. He is your classic three-true outcomes sort of hitter. He hit 26 homers during his two years at the University of California Santa Barbara, which is not the easiest place to hit for power. His brief taste of pro ball wasn't great, but he only made 93 plate appearances. Presumably, he gets dropped in High-A, and we see if the power and the approach play as well as they did in college. He's not much of an FYPD target, but if he hits the ground running in the 2025 season, he could be worthy of a stash. 

Gage Workman, 3B CHC (Cactus League) 2-for-3, HR, R, 2 RBI

Gage Workman may get an extended run to try and steal some early p[ate appearances from Matt Shaw as Matt Shaw is dealing with an oblique injury to start Spring Training. I still think Workman was a confusing decision in Rule V, but Workman could very well hit his way onto the back end of the Cubs bench and be their utility piece going forward.
