It’s that time of the month again, folks, when we look at some under-the-radar players from each division. We’ll look at the NL today and the AL on Wednesday. Before we get to the meat of the article, let’s check in on the NL players I looked at last time. It’s always a good process to look back on past recommendations as a way to keep me honest. I’ll briefly explain how the player has performed and then recommend whether to hold, buy, or sell.

I’ll briefly explain how the player has performed and then recommend whether to hold, buy, or sell.

Robert Hassell: Hitting .222 since publication with only two doubles. This is barely over 50 at-bats, so it’s a tiny sample. 

Recommendation: Hold - I know, with that line, he should most likely be cut - But he’s been playing in some miserable conditions the past couple of weeks, and I’d like to see more with warmer weather ahead.

Henry Davis: Davis was promoted to the Pirates shortly after publication…and hasn’t hit much or taken a walk. His .150 average with one home run is not good. He’s still whiffing on pitches high in the zone, which was my red flag. Endy Rodriguez will soon return, and Davis should return to Triple-A.

Recommendation: Cut for now. He’s waiver wire fodder at this point. I’m not completely closing the book on him, but you don’t need him clogging up your bench. 

Hunter Goodman: He’s doing Hunter Goodman things. He's hit two home runs and is hitting .244, right around where I thought he would be. More home runs will come.

Recommendation: Hold if you have him.
