Talk about making a good first impression. A Double Dong within your first 15 games? There’s been a little bit of chase and whiff out of the zone but the 88.4% Z-Contact is extremely impressive.
Andrew McCutchen, DH PIT (MLB)
1-for-4, HR, R, 3 RBI, K
Kind of a cool moment, McCutchen passed Roberto Clemente on the Pirates all-time HR list. He’s got 6 HR on the season and slashing .263/.354/.405. Decent BA/OBP out of the 38 year old continues to make him a solid deep league bench option for competing squads. It’s unfortunate but McCutchen likely ends up in the Hall of Very Good as the peak was just 5 seasons and there were just a handful of decent supporting role seasons around it. Nevertheless, he’s an inner-circle Pirate.
Heriberto Hernandez, RF MIA (MLB)
2-for-4, HR, 2 R, RBI, K
The first career HR for Hernandez who was hitting out of the 3-hole for the Marlins. He’s been on a BABIP fueled heater to start his career. Hard to think it’s much more than that.
‼️ Jesus Luzardo, LHP PHI (MLB)
6 IP, 5 H, ER, 10 K
After surrendering 20 ER across 5.2 IP and 2 starts Luzardo returned to form with his 4th double digit strikeout performance. You’ve got to feel for those who got dinged across those two starts only to bench him here.
‼️ Spencer Schwellenbach, RHP ATL (MLB)
9 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 9 K
Schwellenbach’s first career complete game came against the Brewers in Milwaukee. I feel like his rise to ace-dome has really flown under the radar. Combining this year and last, he’s thrown 213.1 IP with a 8.9 K/9 and 1.6 BB/9 for a 3.25 ERA.
Jo Adell, CF LAA (MLB)
1-for-4, HR, R, 2 RBI, 2 K
The power surge continues as he’s hit 7 HR in his last 11 games. Over the last month he’s had a 8.9% BB and 18.9% K … I’m trying not to get overly excited here but he’s never had a K% stretch like that before.
💣💣 Brent Rooker, DH SAC (MLB)
4-for-5, 2 HR, 3 R, 3 RBI
Rooker’s Double Dong give him 15 HR on the season which is slightly off last season’s pace, but still good for a 35 HR season with health. Those who roster him really can’t complain with the performance and the K% improvement could lead to an eventful summer.
Jordan Westburg, DH BAL (MLB)
2-for-4, HR, 2B, R, 3 RBI, BB, 2 K
Two games back from the IL and both have come with a HR. After a relatively slow start pre-injury it’s good to see some immediate thump for Westburg owners.
‼️ David Peterson, RHP MLB (MLB)
9 IP, 6 H, 6 K
Look at that DP CGSHO! As a long time Peterson truther it brings lots of joy to see him put it all together. Over his last 200 IP (2024+2025) he’s got a 2.74 ERA.
💣💣 Brandon Nimmo, LF NYM (MLB)
2-for-3, 2 HR, 3 R, 2 RBI, BB
Nimmo’s Double Dong gives him 12 HR on the season and he’s running career high Barrel% and HardHit%. The xStats paint him as unlucky so I wouldn’t be that scared of the .236/.302 BA/OBP, but it’s a good time to remind dynasty managers that plantar fasciitis has a 40-50% recurrence rate (according to Google AI).
Triple-A
Covered by Mitch Stachnik
Drew Gilbert, RF NYM (Triple-A)
1-for-4, HR, R, 2 RBI, BB, K
Gilbert was one of the key pieces in the trade that sent Justin Verlander from the Mets to the Astros in 2023. Last night, he launched his sixth home run of the season and his fourth since being promoted to Triple-A. Gilbert has all the tools and upside to be a very valuable addition to the Mets roster in the near future.
Jhostynxon Garcia, RF BOS (Triple-A)
1-for-5, HR, R, RBI, 2K
The password hit his 8th home run of the season and his 5th since being promoted to Triple-A. Garcia may have to wait for his turn as the Red Sox outfield is a logjam with no room for a promotion. If it took as long as it did to get Roman Anthony to the show, it may be a while before we see the password.
Brady House, 3B WSH (Triple-A)
2-for-4, RBI, 2 K
House is built like one at 6-foot-4 and 208 pounds, and he looks ready for his call-up to the big leagues. He appears destined to anchor the hot corner for the Nationals, who are quickly becoming one of the most intriguing young teams in baseball. With former top prospects like James Wood, Dylan Crews, C.J. Abrams, and others already in the mix, the future in Washington is starting to take shape.
🍔🍟 Brice Matthews, 2B HOU (Triple-A)
3-for-4, HR, 3B, 2 R, 2 RBI, BB, SB
Matthews fell just a double short of hitting for the cycle. Since being an underslot deal in the first round of the 2023 draft, he has made the Astros look smart for taking a chance on him. He added to his strong performance with a combo meal, flashing his speed by stealing his 18th base of the season.
Harry Ford, C SEA (Triple-A)
2-for-5, HR, 2B, 2 R, 6 RBI,
Ford looks more than ready for the challenge of the big leagues, but the emergence of Cal Raleigh as the Mariners’ catcher of the future has complicated his path. Ford has always had the athleticism to play multiple positions, and the Mariners would be wise to start using him more around the diamond to create a clearer path to the majors.
Christian Moore, 2B LAA (Triple-A)
2-for-4, HR, 2 R, 3 RBI, BB, K
In recent years, the Angels’ first-round draft picks have typically spent very little time in the minor leagues before being called up, which makes it somewhat surprising that Moore is still in Triple-A. However, there doesn't appear to be much holding him back. With the team yet to establish a consistent second baseman this season, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Moore get the call very soon.
James Outman, CF LAD (Triple-A)
2-for-5, 3B, R, K
Outman has been stuck in the Dodgers farm system for a while and a change of scenery to get more consistent major league playing time would benefit his development. The Dodgers have been able to rebuild their farm system with similar trades of players like Michale Busch and Gavin Lux, and a similar situation may happen for Outman.
🍔🍟 Brennen Davis, LF NYY (Triple-A)
2-for-4, HR, R, RBI, SB
A combo meal from Davis lands him on the daily sheet. Just a few years ago, Davis was considered a top-100 prospect and part of the Cubs’ future alongside Pete Crow-Armstrong. While he hasn’t fully lived up to those early expectations, he’s starting to turn things around this season, batting .366 with 8 home runs. His homer last night had an exit velocity of 105.3 mph and traveled 411 feet.
🍔🍟 Carlos Rodríguez, LF ATL (Triple-A)
3-for-4, HR, 3 R, 2 RBI, BB, K, SB
A combo meal for Rodríguez. He signed as a minor league free agent with the Braves and was added to the 40-man roster. He has always had a plus hit tool, as made evident by his .316 batting average but has needed more power to be considered for the call-up.
Trayce Thompson, CF BOS (Triple-A)
2-for-4, HR, 2B, 3 R, 5 RBI, BB
The younger brother of basketball star Klay Thompson, Trayce Thompson continues to be one of the more productive players in Triple-A as he waits for another shot at the big leagues. As mentioned earlier, it seems unlikely that opportunity will come in Boston due to their outfield situation. However, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a team lower in the standings take a chance on him.
Bob Seymour, 1B TB (Triple-A)
3-for-4, HR, R, 3 RBI
Seymour has been a consistent power threat all season for the Durham Bulls. Last night, he crushed his 14th home run of the year, sending it 441 feet. I learned he is currently rostered in 0% of leagues on Fantrax, making him a potential hidden gem for fantasy players.
Bobby Dalbec, DH MIL (Triple-A)
3-for-4, 3B, 2B, RBI, K
The former top Red Sox prospect is starting to find his groove in Nashville. After being designated for assignment by the White Sox earlier this season, he signed a minor league deal with the Brewers. Last night, he added a triple off the top of the wall and a double, raising his season batting average to .286.
Double-A
Covered by Tom Gates
Max Anderson, 2B DET (Double-A)
1-for-4, 3B, R, RBI, K
Anderson is rocking a 172 wRC+ in Double-A. He’s averaging a home run every five games. There is little swing and miss in his game. 75% whiff rate and above average in-zone contact.
Seaver King, SS WSH (Double-A)
1-for-4, HR, R, 2 RBI
It wasn’t your typical home run. King lined one down the opposite field line and it just snuck out of the park. He’ll take it for his first Double-A home run. King is pretty aggressive at the plate, swinging at more than half the pitches he sees. The contact is there but this approach won’t lead to too many walks. Just a 4.6% BB% at High-A.
💣💣 Jett Williams, 2B NYM (Double-A)
2-for-3, 2 HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, BB
It was his first multi-homer game of his career. Both solo shots were hit out to center. Jett has 6 home runs and 17 stolen bases at Double-A this year while hitting over .280. Easier to say after a double dong, but I think Jett is going to remind us this year why he was so highly regarded. I think we forgot last year after being plagued with injuries. Buy the dip if there is one.
Jace Bohrofen, 2B TOR (Double-A)
3-for-5, 3 2B, R, 2 RBI
A triple-double… half as nice as a throng of dongs and more impressive in basketball than baseball.
Ethan Workinger, LF ATL (Double-A)
3-for-4, HR, 3 R, 2 RBI, K
Taylor Corso put Workinger on our radar on May 15th as he kept blasting home runs. Well, that was put on pause for a bit as Workinger traded the long ball for singles and has only batted .200 since May 15th. It’s a small sample size but Workinger has slowed down a bit.
