Nate talks to Taitn Gray, one of the quickest rising prep hitters, ahead of Sunday's MLB Draft. Taitn has firmly put himself within day one conversation, boasting some of the loudest offensive tools in the whole draft. Taitn has set records for bat speed, distance, and career home runs throughout his prep career.

Gray was also one of the standouts from the MLB Draft Combine, where Nate got to see him swing in person. Here's what Nate had to say about Taitn after the combine:

"Taitn Gray was one of the standouts of this event, previously ranked at 184 on our big board but rising to 88 in our latest update. Gray posted some of the highest EVs of Tuesday, consistently hitting balls 110+ off the bat from both sides of the plate. Where many switch hitters only showed juice from the left side, Gray looked similar from both sides with his approach and results. While switching from metal to wood, Gray has increased his max EV over 5 mph since the winter, which is certain to shoot him up draft boards as the ceiling continues to rise. Gray also has some real athleticism despite his big frame, which makes him being a catcher even more impressive. On all four of Taitn’s throws to second, I had him between a 1.9 and 1.98 pop time, which was on par with the other prep catchers on Tuesday. He caught all day long after hitting, showing smooth glove movements and fluidity you wouldn’t expect from a guy with his power/size combo. I think he will start his pro career as a catcher, with a strong chance he will perform better in the outfield with his athleticism. If he sticks at catcher and continues to develop, you’re looking at one of the most dynamic players from this class."

Taitn is ranked in the top 100 on our big board, which will be updated in the coming days.
