As Director of Pro Scouting, I lead a talented group of evaluators as we break down future stars. You can find me at random California League games throughout the season!
The Milwaukee Brewers are the envy of a lot of major league organizations. They are one of the better teams in Major League Baseball, and they boast one of the best farm systems in all of baseball. Headlined by one of the best prospects in baseball in Jesus Made, who has the look of a potential star and is in the running for best prospect in baseball once Konnor Griffin and Kevin McGonigle graduate. The Brewers are taking calculated gambles throughout their farm system. They tend to like college hitters early in the draft, like Andrew Fischer, and cut a deal with him to spread around the bonuses to prep players later in the draft. They draft a few different prep players to layer their draft well in case someone doesn’t sign. They also scout Venezuela better than just about any organization in baseball. The Brewers front office is a model organization in baseball, showing how well small-market teams can operate with financial restraints. The Brewers look to be contenders in the NL for a while because their big-league team is strong and they project to have a steady wave of talent coming up that will only make the Brewers stronger going forward, whether those prospects help out the big-league squad directly or get packaged to get the Brewers into any trade conversation they want to be involved with.
About Our Top 20 Lists
Prospects Live, led by its evaluating team & Director of Scouting Rhys White, is proud to begin rolling out its annual offseason system reports. The team combines industry feedback, our live looks, film, and available data to compile each org. We believe this effort has enabled us to present you, the reader, with our best possible view of the prospects in the organization.
We have constructed this list using the Overall Future Potential (OFP) scale. There is no perfect equation for ranking prospects or assigning value to them, but we believe this method is the best possible approach. Every prospect on this list has been graded based on the tried and true 20-80 scouting scale. An 80 is the highest tool and OFP grade on the scale, reserved for MVP-caliber players or tools. Conversely, a 20 is reserved for non-prospects (NPs). A 50 OFP falls in the middle, indicating our evaluators deem this player a future average major league player. Below the 50 OFP tier are the 45s and 40s, comprising a large majority of players on each list. These are specific-role players, such as platoon hitters, utility players, or low-leverage relievers. Above the 50 OFP tier are the 55s and 60s. A 55 represents a future above-average player, and a 60 OFP designation is reserved for future All-Star caliber players.
In addition to the tool grades and OFP, we will also include a 'Risk' associated with each prospect. We use this to better communicate to you, the reader, whether a grade is more aggressive or conservative in nature. The evaluation team has worked hard to apply both the grades and risk components to better illustrate how each individual prospect stacks up in their respective system and in the baseball ecosystem.
Jesus Made is one of the best prospects in all of baseball, and has made it all the way to Double-A in his first taste of stateside baseball. Made has flown through the minors and very well could see time with the Brewers in 2026 if all things break right. Made is a well-polished hitter at such a young age; his swing from both sides of the plate is remarkably similar, and at such a young age he shows a great understanding of the strike zone. There is plus bat speed here and more than enough barrel manipulation to attack pitches all over the zone. His swing is relatively simple: he has a small leg kick, he sinks into his back hips and his hands move forward with him. His swing has no noticeable holes, and even as he climbed up the minor league ladder and faced better and better stuff he didn't slow down. He is in a word, hitterish. The power is still coming along, as there is some room to project some more muscle, but comfortably right now you can project him out for at the very least above-average power in game, with a chance for more. He is a good athlete, and should be able to stay on the left side of the infield. His actions at short are a bit lacking, but he could more than hold his own at third base and be an above-average defender at the hot corner thanks to plus athleticism and good instincts. If he can round out at shortstop he becomes that much more valuable. He is an explosive runner as currently constructed. Made has a ton of tools and has the production to back it up and looks every part the top three to four prospect in all of baseball with at least four tools that could end up being plus at the end of the day; he could be a perennial All-Star in Milwaukee that we could see debut as early as late 2026 if things go right for Made. - Rhys White
