I'm back with one more installment on some names fantasy GMs should consider stashing in redraft formats, and others who dynasty contenders may consider targeting for some young firepower in your quest for championship glory.

Again, league context will be critical for each of these prospects.
While deep league fantasy players will likely be familiar with most (if not all) of today's names, we're going to take a look at what we should expect out of these kids in 2025, when they might show up, and how they could see meaningful playing time.

Colson Montgomery, SS CWS (MLB)

I had planned on writing about Colson Montgomery before his call-up, so this isn't exactly cheating!

After his "reset" demotion to complex ball, he delivered a solid .270 BA + .353 OBP at AAA, along with eight bombs in 32 games, all while playing fine defense.

Oh, here's some of that defense already playing out at the MLB level:

As you can see, we're talking about an excellent athlete, one whose development may have been slowed by his refusal to drop the other sports he enjoyed.

Here's what I wrote on X following Montgomery's promotion:

#WhiteSox Colson Montgomery has gone from a premier prospect to someone dynasty GMs were dumping en masse earlier this year...

...but now he's getting the call, and he'll have some runway to develop at the big league level.

It's not going to be pretty, and could easily end up in a demotion for more seasoning, but there is real talent here.

Remember how Gunnar Henderson went from a "decent" prospect to #1 seemingly overnight? His path was somewhat similar to Montgomery's in that they were both basketball stars who were reluctant to focus solely on baseball for a long while.

This is something the data just can't highlight.

Think about it: focusing on ONE sport from the age of 12 (or younger)-onward, and all the advantages that brings in terms of development.

Anyway, BUCKLE UP for another roller coaster ride! I predict some decent 2026 value for Monty in fantasy leagues.

While 2026 feels more practical when it comes to consistent production from Colson Montgomery, if the Sox allow him to develop in the bigs, he might be polished enough by September to give fantasy teams some sneaky production come playoff season.
