Introduction to AAA & Spring Training Statcast Apps

When I interned with a Triple-A organization last summer, I was struck by the lack of publicly available Minor League data. Since then, I have worked to bring advanced baseball data into the public sphere. The installment of Hawkeye systems in all 30 Triple-A stadiums allowed me to scrape data that only been sparsely available in previous years, thus bringing cutting edge information to all baseball fans, from casuals to deep dynasty league savants. However, the method I use to scrape Triple-A pitch data only reports movement in the last 40 feet. To fix this, I built an algorithm to predict the full movement of each pitch. I completed a similar project this spring when I scraped Spring Training Statcast data and posted it on a web app. More publicly available baseball information is always a good thing, and I hope this data will allow fans to learn about their favorite prospects, build comprehensive prospect projection systems, and more.
