Physical Description: Compact, somewhat boxy frame. High-waisted with narrow shoulders, hips, and backside. Muscular upper body and thighs. Solid athlete. Not maxed out, but added mass would negatively impact his speed and mobility.
Hit: Balanced base with a mild bend at the knees and an upright, slightly closed stance. Hands start at ear level and rock backward during big leg kick, then pop up slightly before pulling quickly through the zone. Above-average bat speed with a level swing and above-average bat-to-ball skills. Adept at using the whole field and driving the ball the other way. Grade: 55
Power: Swing lacks natural loft, but his strength, bat speed, and barrel control give him a good chance to hit for average power. Can go deep to all fields. Grade: 50
Field: Signed as a shortstop but he needs a lot of work to stick at the position. His hands and range are average, but his throwing mechanics and footwork are inconsistent. Likely grows out of the position, but has a chance to be a solid-average defender at third base. Grade: 50
Arm: Has enough arm strength to capably man shortstop or third base, though his accuracy needs a bit of work, with throws sailing on him at times. Grade: 50
Run: Not especially quick out of the box but shows average speed, running his 60s around 7 seconds flat. Body type suggests he could lose a full grade by the time he's 24. Grade: 45
Overall: Advanced hitter with power potential and the defensive tools to stick in the dirt. Unlikely to stay at shortstop in the long term, but owns the offensive profile to develop into a potentially average big-league third baseman in the mold of fellow Tigers prospect Isaac Paredes.
