Physical Description: Beginning to fill out but offers a little further physical projection. Added bulk since signing, particularly to his core and lower half. Strong upper body. Heavier than his listed weight.
Hit: Slightly crouched, but very open stance. Has been opened since signing. Keeps his bat on his shoulder. Hands stay back. Big leg kick as he loads before stepping into the pitch. Level swing. Average or better bat speed. Aggressive at the plate and takes big cuts. Swing can get long. Swing and miss will be a part of his game. Average eye. Shows an ability to go up the middle. Grade: 40
Power: Above-average raw power that is only beginning to materialize in-game. Mostly pull side. A present gap hitter. Does a good job of creating leverage. Improvement with his approach will allow him to get to his power more frequently. Could be average or better in time. Grade: 45
Field: Presently moves well in the outfield. Average range. Takes solid routes and plays balls well off the bounce. Foot speed is beginning to slow which may hinder his range in time. May end up in LF, despite his arm strength. Grade: 50

Run: Fringe-average speed in the field but the frame suggests he may slow with time. Timed at 4.36 down the line from the right side. Runs with some effort. Demonstrates good instincts on the basepaths. Won't be a threat to steal. Grade: 45
Overall: Rodriguez remains raw but he is filling out and starting to get to his power. He will be a slow mover, but the power and arm strength project well in RF. His hit tool and approach will need to improve and his defensive ability will need to hold for him to project as anything more than a below-average player.
