Overall: Rondon signed out of Venezuela as part of the Padres 2017 J2 class for a mere $75,000. At 5'11", 150 he's undersized but still gets his fastball up into the low-90s with relative ease. He's shown advanced command of his three pitch mix and gets rave reviews for his athleticism and efficient arm action. With some added velocity to pair with his above-average breaking ball, Rondon could develop into a back-end starter.
