Physical Description: Trim, wiry build. Long limbs. Athletic body. Minimal muscular development, lacks overall strength. Frame has room to add weight and strength.

Hit: Open stance, hands just below the head. Crouched with feet shoulder width apart. Active hand load with hitch, sizeable leg kick timing mechanism. Toe taps with two strikes. Average bat speed, barrel is occasionally late due to excessive hand movement. Swing lacks drive and torque. Linear bat path with excellent bat to ball skills. Can make contact with almost anything. Uses the entire field well with contact-oriented approach. Ball rarely hit with authority. Approach could be fine tuned, needs to be more selective. Has ability to utilize the bunt. Bat to ball skills will allow him to make enough contact to be an average big league hitter. Ability to hit the ball with more authority will become crucial. Grade: 50

Power: Below average raw power, game power plays even lower. Power is not bottom of the scale, but close. Lacks necessary strength to drive ball. Turns into a slap hitter at times. Future power will be predominantly of the XBH variety, a result of finding gaps and using speed. Adding strength will help improve power, but approach will continue to hinder ability to drive the ball. Needs to be more selective and find pitches to drive. Grade: 30

Field: Sure handed defender. Instincts to make plays apparent. Soft hands, catches the ball well. Quick transfers and release. Footwork could improve, waits on GB occasionally and can lose body control at times. Above average range, moves well both ways. Speed and athleticism help. Flashes ability to make highlight-reel play. Needs more reps, but playable up the middle. Grade: 50

Arm: Fringy arm that needs more consistency. Good throwing mechanics with quick release. Lacks ideal carry. Usually around the bag, will make first basemen work at times. Able to throw from multiple angles and while on the run. Probably stretched at 3B, but playable up the middle. Best suited for 2B. Grade: 45

Run: Above average speed. Long strides. Gets out of the box well with good acceleration. Utilizes well for bunting purposes. Potential base stealer. Needs to improve instincts, gets caught too often. Ability to take extra base. Uses speed to make things happen. Grade: 55

Overall: Marcano's ability to make contact with almost anything is extremely impressive. His bat to ball skills are exceptional and will allow him to become an average hitter. While he does have a good ability of recognizing balls and strikes, he needs to become more selective. He has limited strength, so he needs to wait to get a pitch he can drive. While adding strength will help his power tool, it will never be one that stands out. Homerun power is never going to be the norm for him, rather he is going to have to rely on his speed to collect XBH. His speed is an above average tool, but he needs to learn how to use it to steal bases better. His stolen base success rate has been low due to a lack of instincts. Defensively, his glove and range stand out. He has the ability to get to a lot of balls and he catches the ones he gets to. The range and hands will play at short, but the arm is a question. It lacks consistency in both strength and accuracy. If he wants to stick, he will need to improve both, but he is more likely to slide over to second. As of now he fits the below-average, utility type role.
