Physical Description: Relatively average build with a thick lower half
Hit: Slightly open stance, small leg kick, smooth line drive swing, plus bat to ball skills, looks like a natural hitter, patient and comfortable at the plate, works counts Grade: 60
Power: Current profile is hit over power, more of a singles and doubles approach, slight adjustment to swing path could unlock a few more bombs but hitting for power is just not Ovalles' game Grade: 40
Field: Good instincts in the field, makes all of the routine plays, lacks speed for center field, average to a tick above at corner outfield spots, has also played some 1B, bat leaves a bit to be desired for these corner spots Grade: 50
Arm: Average arm with decent carry, fairly accurate, enough to play right field but more suited for play in left field Grade: 50
Run: Does not lack hustle but is just not a real fast player, run is a below average to maybe even a slightly restricting tool Grade: 40
Overall: sweet swing with above average hit tool and the ability to get on base, limited power and defensive fit make it tough to see consistent playing time at the major league level, however Ovalles is a good ball player who will help a team off the bench or in an emergency replacement role
