Physical Description: Listed at 6'0, 230. Round build; no prototypical physical projection but potential for reverse projection and reshaped physique with pro conditioning program. Well below-average athlete.

Hit: Switch-hitter. Wide base with closed stance and quiet setup from both sides of plate. Toe tap. Doesn't really engage lower half in swing but generates easy plus bat speed and whip with hands. Short swing but below-average bat control from both sides of plate; fouls off or swings through too many hittable fastballs in the strike zone for a bat-first player. Swing path is pretty flat as RHH but a little more uphill as LHH. Patient approach. Grade: 40

Power: Has plus raw power from both sides of the plate driven by raw strength and hand speed. Game power plays a tick below that because mediocre bat control causes him to miss some pitches he should drive. Grade: 55

Field: Split time in college between catcher/left field. Lack of athleticism limits him to first base and designated hitter as he progresses through the pro ranks. Grade: 40

Arm: Average arm strength is functional if he plays first base and left field. Not particularly important at DH. Grade: 50

Run: Doesn't move all that well. Clocked home-to-first times in the 4.6-4.7 range as a right-handed hitter, on par with players like Garrett Cooper and Yan Gomes. Grade: 30

Overall: Dillard has patience and plus raw power from both sides of the plate, but the secondary skills are lacking. He's at the bottom of the defensive spectrum already, probably best suited for DH. He needs to be a special offensive player to compensate, but Dillard's below-average bat control causes him to miss too many pitches he should drive.
